BERTRAM Anderson, a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School, is the 2007 recipient of the Keithley Lake & Associates & Daniel Brantley & Associates Scholarship.
Anderson, who is from the district of Leith Hall in the parish of St Thomas, Jamaica, is a past student Morant Bay High School. He entered the University of the West Indies in the 1998, in the faculty of Social Sciences. He holds a Master of Science in Political Theory and Comparative Politics, and a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Political Science. He completed his law degree programme in 2005, with First Class Honours.
He states, "This scholarship was very instrumental in my completing the programme at the Norman Manley Law School. Without this, I might not have been able to realize my life dream of pursuing a career in the field of law...I stand eternally grateful to (both firms) for the help proffered, for believing in me and for having made the contribution. I take this opportunity to say a special thank you for making a positive investment to the development of education in the region".
The scholarship is awarded annually to two second year students, one from Jamaica and one from the Eastern Caribbean based on scholastic ability and economic need. Applications are now open at the Law School for the 2007/2008 Academic year.
